A stolen Renault Clio and a serious crash on the A66 motorway have kept police busy in the Main-Kinzig district this week. Authorities are now searching for witnesses in both cases, with one incident involving a car theft in Hanau and another a single-vehicle collision near Gelnhausen-West.
Between Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM and Thursday afternoon at 4:30 PM, unknown thieves took a Renault Clio from a parking lot on Ottostraße in Hanau. The vehicle, valued at around €2,000, was stolen from outside a multi-family house. The Criminal Investigation Department (Kripo) has since launched a nationwide alert for the car and is urging anyone with information to come forward.
Both cases remain under investigation, with authorities relying on public assistance to gather further details. The stolen Renault Clio has not yet been recovered, while the driver of the Ford Puma continues to receive medical care following the crash.
