Sparkasse Uckermark Introduces Real-Time Payments Across EEA from October 5th
Sparkasse Uckermark customers can anticipate changes in their transfer services starting October 5th, with new EU regulations facilitating real-time payments across the European Economic Area (EEA). Customers can opt for real-time or standard transfers at self-service terminals. Real-time transfers will be accessible around the clock, albeit at the cost of a standard transfer. Technical modifications are being implemented in online banking, apps, and self-service devices to accommodate these changes. However, recipient checks won't be feasible for all payments, such as transfers to savings or credit accounts. Financial institutions will still verify the IBAN and recipient's name to prevent errors and fraud. Customers must actively confirm their currently valid contractual basis with their bank or Sparkasse before October 5th. The impact on existing contracts taking effect on the same day remains unclear. From October 5th, Sparkasse Uckermark customers will have the option for real-time transfers, available 24/7. While technical adjustments are being made, customers are advised to confirm their contractual basis with their bank. The impact on existing contracts is yet to be clarified.
