Sparkasse Uckermark Brings Real-Time Transfers from October 5th

Sparkasse Uckermark is set to introduce real-time transfers from October 5th, thanks to new EU regulations. This change will allow customers to choose between real-time and standard transfers at self-service terminals, with real-time transfers available around the clock at the cost of a standard transfer.

To prepare for this, technical adjustments are required in online banking, the Sparkasse app, and self-service devices. The exact customer segment for these changes has not been publicly disclosed, but Sparkasse Uckermark typically follows a staged rollout, starting with certain customer groups such as online banking users or business customers. Customers will need to have the latest online banking software and valid login details to access the new features. They will also receive specific instructions via email, SMS, or within their online banking platform.

Customers will have the option to release a payment after a check, but the financial institution will not be liable for incorrect transfers. However, not all payments will support a recipient check, such as transfers to savings or credit accounts. To ensure accuracy and prevent fraud, financial institutions are obliged to check the IBAN and recipient's name. Before the changes take effect, customers must actively confirm their currently valid contractual basis with their Sparkasse or bank.

From October 5th, Sparkasse Uckermark customers will enjoy the convenience of real-time transfers. To stay informed about the rollout and ensure a smooth transition, customers are advised to keep an eye on their online banking platform and communications from their financial institution. If unsure, customers should contact their Sparkasse or bank directly for personalized guidance.
