Sohar International opens 59th branch in Muscat's Al Mouj Walk
Sohar International has opened its 59th branch in Al Mouj, Muscat, reinforcing its commitment to physical banking despite the rise of digital services. The new location, inaugurated by Halima bint Rashid Al Zarriyah, aligns with the bank's strategy to blend modern convenience with face-to-face customer support.
The Al Mouj branch sits within Al Mouj Walk, offering retail and business banking services. Customers can access account opening, card issuance, deposits, financing, and advisory support. Its design reflects the bank's contemporary brand, prioritising efficiency and consistent service delivery.
The opening coincided with the launch of *Sohar International Souq - Layali Al Mouj*, engaging the local community. This expansion follows a broader growth plan: over the past five years, the bank has increased its network from around 15 to over 35 branches. Key areas include Muscat, Salalah, and the industrial hubs of Sohar and Duqm, where economic activity is rising. The bank's strategy balances digital transformation with physical presence, ensuring accessibility for entrepreneurs and small businesses. This approach supports Oman Vision 2040, which promotes economic diversification and local enterprise development.
The new branch strengthens Sohar International's reach in high-growth areas. By maintaining a physical network alongside digital services, the bank aims to support both individual customers and businesses. The expansion also reinforces its role in Oman's long-term economic goals.
