Opel Test Center Loses Operator - 287 Jobs at Risk - Segula Technologies' Iconic European Vehicle Test Center Closes, 287 Jobs Lost

Segula Technologies GmbH, operator of one of Europe's largest vehicle testing centers in Rodgau-Dudenhofen since 1966, has filed for insolvency. The facility, known for its shake tracks and high-banked curves, will close, affecting 287 employees.

The insolvency proceedings do not impact the German Segula holding company or its subsidiaries. However, Opel, Stellantis' German subsidiary, must now find a new operator for its vehicle testing center near Frankfurt. The current operator, Segula Technologies, will close its facilities in Rodgau-Dudenhofen and Rüsselsheim.

A transfer company will assist 82 long-standing employees at the Dudenhofen site in finding new career opportunities. The test center site remains under Opel's ownership, but the company has not yet commented on the future of the facility. The new operator, 'Motec', will take over the Opel test track in Frankfurt.

The closure of the Rodgau-Dudenhofen testing center will result in 287 job losses by the end of October, with a small team remaining to wind down operations until the end of the year. Opel and the new operator, Motec, will work together to ensure a smooth transition and support affected employees in finding new opportunities.
