Secure Transition from School to Work - Signing of the OloV Strategy by 2028

A new cooperation agreement has extended the OloV initiative in Hesse until the end of 2028. The deal brings together schools, businesses, and regional organisations to improve career transitions for young people. Funding comes from the state government, the EU, and Hessian ministries responsible for economic affairs and education.

The OloV strategy aims to streamline the shift from school to work across Hesse. It focuses on creating and filling more apprenticeship positions while avoiding unnecessary duplication. General education schools are now embedding career orientation events into their regular teaching plans to help students find suitable training.

Local and regional partners play a key role in the initiative. The Marburg Employment Agency and the Kassel-Marburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce are among the organisations involved. A dedicated working group oversees practical implementation, engaging students, parents, and businesses directly. Caritasverband für das Bistum Fulda e.V. and Diakonie Marburg-Biedenkopf lead the regional OloV office, coordinating efforts in Marburg-Biedenkopf. The agreement also sets the stage for continued collaboration beyond 2028, ensuring long-term support for career development in the region.

The extended OloV agreement secures funding and coordination until at least 2028. Schools will keep integrating career guidance into lessons, while regional partners maintain their involvement. The initiative’s focus remains on improving apprenticeship opportunities and smoothing the transition from education to employment.
