Schubert Motors expands with Autohaus Fritze acquisition in key German regions

Schubert Motors Group has acquired Autohaus Fritze, a long-standing family business in southern Saxony-Anhalt and northern Thuringia. The deal expands Schubert Motors’ reach across Saxony-Anhalt while adding new brands to its portfolio. Both companies see the move as a way to strengthen regional presence and future growth.

Autohaus Fritze was founded in 1990 and operates as a family-run dealership with locations in Naumburg, Sangerhausen, and Nordhausen. The business specialises in BMW, BMW Classic, Mini, MG, and Kawasaki vehicles. After the acquisition, these sites will join Schubert Motors’ existing network of eleven locations in Saxony-Anhalt and Lower Saxony.

The merger increases Schubert Motors’ workforce to around 480 employees. It also broadens the group’s brand offerings to include MG, Kawasaki, and Benda alongside its current BMW, Mini, BMW Motorrad, and Hyundai lines. Despite the change, Autohaus Fritze will continue operating as an independent entity within the Schubert Motors structure.

Torsten Schubert, Managing Director of Schubert Motors, described the acquisition as a strategic step for long-term stability and regional focus. Michael Fritze, Managing Director of Autohaus Fritze, agreed, stating the merger would boost competitiveness while preserving the local identity of its branches. Peter Dräger, another Schubert Motors director, added that the partnership aims to deliver sustainable, regionally anchored mobility solutions.

Following the deal, Schubert Motors now covers all of Saxony-Anhalt while maintaining its presence in Lower Saxony and Thuringia. The expanded network and workforce position the group for further growth in the region. The acquisition also secures Autohaus Fritze’s future under the Schubert Motors umbrella.
