Scheduled Dates for WPT World Championship Festival Held at Wynn for the Fourth Time
The World Poker Tour (WPT) World Championship Festival is set to return to Wynn Las Vegas from December 2 to December 22, 2025, following a similar pattern to the previous year's event.
The festival's main events have been finalized, with two marquee tournaments taking centre stage.
The $1,100 WPT Prime Championship runs from December 7–12, 2025, and its final six players will battle it out on December 20. The defending champion of this event is Zak VanKeuren, who won it for $1,162,350 in 2024.
The flagship event, the $10,400 WPT World Championship, runs from December 13–19, 2025. The final six players will return for the televised final table on December 21. Notably, Scott Stewart, the defending champion of the WPT World Championship, is expected to participate after his career-best win of $2,563,900 in the previous year.
Chris Moorman, who finished in fourth place in the WPT World Championship for the second consecutive year in 2024, will also be in the running. Despite his impressive streak, he will not be starting the tournament as the defending champion.
All festival events will take place on the Encore side of Wynn Las Vegas. While the full detailed side event schedule has not yet been released, it is expected to be available soon.
It's worth noting that the WPT World Championship will once again go up against the World Series of Poker Paradise (WSOPP) bracelet series in the Bahamas, which runs from December 14-18. The winner of the WPT World Championship will join the WPT Champions Club.
In 2023, the WPT set a record with the largest guaranteed prize pool in poker history at $40 million. However, for the 2024 event, there is no guaranteed prize pool. Despite this, the prize pool for the WPT World Championship in 2024 cracked $23 million, making it one of the largest live tournaments in poker history outside of the World Series of Poker (WSOP).
The final table of the WPT World Championship will be livestreamed on December 21, providing poker enthusiasts around the world with the opportunity to witness the thrilling conclusion of the tournament.
