Sberbank aids 20,000 families in Yakutia with debt relief programmes
Arseny Kolobov, Deputy Chairman of Sberbank's Baikal Branch, recently spoke on Yakutia's Tetim radio channel about debt support for struggling borrowers. The discussion highlighted ways the bank helps customers avoid financial collapse through various relief measures.
The radio programme targeted residents of Yakutia, Irkutsk Oblast, Buryatia, and Transbaikal Territoryāregions where many face loan repayment challenges. Kolobov stressed the need for early action to prevent debt problems from worsening.
Sberbank's Baikal Branch has already assisted 20,000 families in regaining financial stability. Support options include payment holidays, debt restructuring, out-of-court settlements, and full debt resolution plans. These measures aim to prevent bankruptcy and ease repayment burdens.
Kolobov warned against using third-party 'debt adjusters,' urging borrowers to contact the bank directly instead. He noted that early intervention is crucial to stopping financial difficulties from escalating. Last year, 90% of all support requests were submitted online, showing a clear preference for digital solutions. Applications for debt relief can be made quickly through the SberBank Online app. The bank has streamlined the process to ensure borrowers get help without unnecessary delays. However, no targeted in-person debt counselling is currently available at Sberbank branches or regional offices in the mentioned regions.
The radio broadcast aimed to inform borrowers in four key regions about available support. Sberbank's programmes provide structured solutions to manage debt and avoid financial ruin. For those struggling, the bank recommends reaching out early through official channels for the best chance of recovery.
