Russia’s ‘Coin Week’ sees 560,000 rubles in loose change exchanged in Transbaikal

The Transbaikal Territory recently hosted Russia's nationwide 'Coin Week' campaign, with residents exchanging a substantial amount of loose change this autumn. The campaign, held in autumn 2025, saw a significant number of one-ruble and ten-ruble coins exchanged. Approximately 40,000 one-ruble coins and 37,000 ten-ruble coins were handed in, totaling around 560,000 rubles. Interestingly, over 2,000 kopecks were also exchanged, despite their rarity in circulation. Participants had the option to deposit the exchanged funds directly into their accounts, free of commission charges. This service proved popular, with more coins exchanged and a higher total value compared to the spring campaign. The 'Coin Week' campaign in the Transbaikal Territory resulted in a substantial amount of loose change being exchanged for banknotes and commemorative coins. The campaign's success highlights the public's willingness to participate in such initiatives, with the exchanged coins totaling around 560,000 rubles and weighing approximately 686 kg.
