Insurance trends in Russia shifted noticeably in January 2026. Sales of CASCO policies in Sverdlovsk Region doubled compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, nationwide OSAGO policy purchases climbed by 22%, with prices also edging higher.

The cost of CASCO insurance in Sverdlovsk Region rose sharply. The average policy price reached 108,457 rubles, marking a 73% increase from the previous year. Despite this, overall CASCO sales across Russia grew by 23%, driven partly by a twelvefold surge in mini-CASCO policies, which now average just 1,561 rubles.

Road accidents remained the leading cause of CASCO claims, accounting for 70% of all incidents in January. Vehicle glass damage unrelated to collisions followed, making up 21% of cases. Falling objects and malicious acts by third parties contributed 3% and 5% of claims, respectively, while other types of damage covered the remaining 1%.

OSAGO sales saw a nationwide rise of 22%, with the average policy cost increasing by 4% to 6,650 rubles. However, OSAGO claims did not show any growth during the same period. Data on CASCO demand in Sverdlovsk Region for January 2026 remains unavailable as of early February.
