Russian authorities seize a Lexus RX over 1M ruble tax debt
Bailiffs in Russiaâs Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) have seized a Lexus RX from a debtor named Malchikov. The action follows his failure to pay taxes, with arrears reaching 1 million rubles. Authorities are now taking steps to recover the outstanding sum.
Malchikov had accumulated unpaid tax debts totalling 1 million rubles. On top of this, he owes 1.9 million rubles in unpaid loans. Bailiffs responded by enforcing several measures: summoning him for questioning, freezing his bank accounts, and placing a temporary travel ban on him. They also garnished his wages and blocked any vehicle registration actions under his name.
The seized Lexus RX will now undergo an appraisal to establish its current market value. If Malchikov does not settle his debts, the car will be put up for auction to cover the outstanding amounts.
The enforcement measures aim to recover the 1 million rubles in tax arrears. The sale of the Lexus RX could help clear part of the debt if Malchikov fails to pay. Bailiffs will proceed with the auction if no resolution is reached.
