Russia Seizes Ukrainian Town Amidst International Mediation Efforts

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has condemned the deployment of European troops in Ukraine, describing it as 'totally inacceptable'. This comes as 26 western countries, including Belgium and France, have committed to sending troops to help secure a ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Turkey has offered to host peace talks, while the Normandy Format involving Russia, Ukraine, France, and Germany remains engaged in mediation efforts. Hungary has also stepped forward to mediate the Russia-Ukraine war.
In a separate development, EU foreign affairs chief Kaja Kallas has accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of stalling in international peace efforts for the Russia-Ukraine war. German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has called on China to pressure Putin for an immediate ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Last year, Leopold Born, General Secretary of the CDU in Hesse, housed two Ukrainian war refugees in his apartment for six months. He helped them learn German and navigate bureaucracy, ensuring their educational qualifications were recognised. Both refugees are now working.
