Rüsselsheim to Hire Childcare Assistants in Pilot Program

Rüsselsheim is set to hire childcare assistants in a one-year pilot initiative, funded by the Hessian Ministry of Labor, Integration, Youth, and Social Affairs. The city council will vote on the program on November 6, following discussions that began in 2024. Applications for the role are now available online.

The program aims to employ childcare assistants in all 20 approved daycare centers across Rüsselsheim. These assistants will handle non-educational organizational tasks, freeing up pedagogical staff to focus more on children. The idea was first discussed in the city council in 2024 and has now gained traction with the support of the relevant ministry.

If approved, the pilot program will bring additional support to Rüsselsheim's daycare centers, potentially improving the quality of care and education for children. The city council's vote on November 6 will determine the program's implementation.
