Rüsselsheim Invests €200,000+ in Local Volunteer Groups for 2025
Rüsselsheim am Main has distributed over €200,000 in grants to local volunteer groups in 2025. The funding supports a wide range of activities, from cultural projects to sports and senior initiatives. The city aims to strengthen community engagement across different age groups and backgrounds.
Sports clubs in the area received around €140,000, with a focus on youth development and facility upkeep. Another €8,630 was set aside for children’s and youth cultural programmes, ensuring younger residents have access to creative activities.
Twelve senior clubs were awarded roughly €1,170 to organize external events for older adults. These programmes encourage social interaction and participation among elderly residents.
Cultural organizations also benefited, with 37 associations—including the city’s Federation of Cultural Associations—sharing €44,800. An additional €8,750 went to 12 intercultural and international groups to promote integration and community involvement.
Welfare and charitable organizations will collectively receive about €13,250 to support essential social services. The city itself secured €600,000 from Hesse’s WIR programme, though no specific intercultural groups were named as direct recipients for 2025.
The grants cover a broad spectrum of community needs, from sports and culture to senior care and social services. The funding reflects Rüsselsheim’s commitment to fostering inclusion and participation across all age groups and cultural backgrounds.
