Rüsselsheim Honors WW Victims: Multi-Location Commemorative Events Planned

Rüsselsheim am Main is set to host a series of commemorative events on November 8, 2024, honouring the victims of both World Wars. The city administration and local district councils have planned ceremonies at different locations, each with its unique programme.

The day will commence at 11:30 AM in Rüsselsheim-Königstädten. Local district head Karl-Heinz Schneckenberger and Reverend Maria Heiligenthal will lead the memorial service, accompanied by the Siebenbürger Musicians.

At 1:00 PM, a service will take place at the cemetery in Rüsselsheim-Bauschheim. Maria Schmitz-Henkes will welcome attendees, and Edeltraud Hederer-Kunert will deliver the commemorative address. The SKG Bauschheim Brass Band will provide musical accompaniment.

The central memorial ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM at Rüsselsheim’s Waldfriedhof. Jens Grode will welcome guests, and Mayor Patrick Burghardt will deliver a commemorative speech. The event will feature musical performances by the mixed choir 'CantaRona' and the St. Georg Brass Band.

The city of Rüsselsheim am Main has meticulously planned these commemorative events to pay respect to the victims of the World Wars. Each ceremony offers a unique blend of solemnity and musical tribute, inviting the community to remember and reflect.
