The Department of Citizenship and Migration in Rüsselsheim am Main has introduced a new online service for residence permit applications. This digital platform covers requests based on humanitarian, legal, or political reasons. Mayor Patrick Burghardt highlighted the move as part of the city’s push toward a ‘Digital Town Hall’.

The service went live last year, adding to the city’s existing digital offerings. These have been available for over two years. Applicants can now submit requests for permanent settlement permits, residence permits for education, work, or family reunification, and residence-related certificates.

The new system allows applicants to handle various permit requests online. This includes work permits, training toleration permits, and residence cards. The city’s focus remains on improving efficiency and accessibility for all users.
