Charity Expert: That Alone Can't Solve Country's Problems - RTL Telethon’s 30th edition unites stars to transform children’s lives in Germany

The RTL Telethon returns for its 30th edition, aiming to raise funds for children in need across Germany. This year’s event will feature high-profile names like Jürgen Klopp and Joey Kelly, who will take part in creative fundraising stunts. Behind the scenes, Wolfram Kons, a long-time charity campaigner, continues his decades-long effort to support disadvantaged young people.

Since its launch in 1996, the RTL-Spendenmarathon has collected over €306 million for children’s causes. Kons, RTL’s former head of charity initiatives, has played a key role in this success. His work extends beyond the telethon, including support for the LR Global Kids Fund e.V., which aids underprivileged children, and Stiftung Lesen, a literacy organisation.

The 2024 RTL Telethon will bring together celebrities, activists, and donors to address children’s needs. With Kons’ experience and new fundraising efforts, the event seeks to build on its 30-year legacy. The funds raised will directly support projects improving education, health, and living conditions for young people in Germany.
