Romanian Suspect Extradited to Germany After Violent Alsfeld Assault

A 22-year-old Romanian national has been extradited to Germany after being arrested in Romania for a sexual assault and robbery in Alsfeld. The suspect, who was identified as a 22-year-old man, was remanded to a Hessian correctional facility pending further investigation.

The incident occurred on Sunday, June 8, 2025, near Grünberger Straße in Alsfeld. The victim, a 33-year-old woman, was sexually assaulted and robbed. Following the attack, the suspect fled to Romania to evade German authorities. An international legal assistance request was made, leading to his arrest in Romania on October 16, 2025.

The suspect was then extradited to Germany on November 5, 2025, and presented to the Frankfurt am Main District Court the following day.

The 22-year-old Romanian national is currently in custody in a Hessian correctional facility as the investigation continues. The Gießen District Court issued an arrest warrant for the suspect.
