Rodgau’s free fiber-optic rollout to connect 25,000 homes and businesses by 2025

Rodgau is set to expand its high-speed internet network under a new deal with Westconnect GmbH. The project will bring free fiber-optic connections to around 25,000 homes and businesses across the city. Officials say the upgrade will boost local growth and support remote working.

The city of Rodgau and Westconnect GmbH have signed an agreement to roll out a fiber-optic network. The expansion covers all districts, aiming to future-proof the area for businesses and residents. Mayor Max Breitenbach highlighted the move as a key step in making Rodgau more attractive for companies and flexible work.

The fiber-optic expansion will connect thousands of properties by 2025. Owners can sign up for free installations, with no obligation to choose a specific provider. The city expects the upgrade to improve digital access for both households and small business ideas.
