Rodgau’s Cleaning Team Raises €2,800 for Local Hospice Through Charity Drive

A team of city cleaners in Rodgau has raised €2,800 for the Wasserturm Hospice through a charity drive. The initiative, known as the Tilly Charity Drive, began in January 2023 and has grown in popularity among local employees. This year’s total even exceeded the amount collected in 2022.

The cleaning team organised the entire campaign in their spare time. They hosted bake sales, sold handmade decorations, and collected personal donations from colleagues. Their efforts culminated in a symbolic cheque presentation, where representatives Gabriela Werner and Antje Göckler handed over the funds to the hospice.

The Wasserturm Hospice depends heavily on donations to function. Each year, it requires six-figure sums to cover operating costs. With 45 active volunteers, the organisation also plans to launch a new training course for recruits in April.

The €2,800 donation will help support the hospice’s daily work. The Tilly Charity Drive has now established itself as a key fundraising event for local staff. Organisers hope the initiative will continue to grow in future years.
