Rodgau Launches 'Notinsel' Initiative for Child Safety Havens

A new initiative, 'Notinsel', is launching in Rodgau to provide children with safe havens in emergency situations. Led by the Agency for Economic Development and City Marketing, the project starts with a children's festival on September 15th, with the first 'Notinseln' opening on October 1st.

Several small businesses in Jügesheim and Nieder-Roden, such as Elektro Fischer, the Teehaus, Bioladen Haller, Sonnenkäfer, DHC Media, and Pauly-von-Buttlar Apotheke, have already volunteered as 'Notinseln'. These points of contact will offer protection and help to children in distress or dangerous situations. The project aims to involve as many small businesses, doctor's practices, and institutions as possible, with municipal institutions like the Bürgerservice in the town hall, city works customer service, and libraries also joining the network by the end of the year. Jennifer Jäger is introducing the project to schools and kindergartens in the coming weeks. Participation is free, and interested parties can contact via email at [email protected] or find more information on the city's homepage at rodgau.de/Notinsel.

The 'Notinsel' project, led by the German Children's Protection Foundation Hánsel+Gretel since 2002, is planned to expand in Rodgau. With the support of local small businesses and municipal institutions, the project aims to offer as many children as possible protection and help in emergency situations. Further information can be found at www.notinsel.de.
