Growth at Roche: More Employees and Higher Revenue - Roche boosts Germany footprint with €700M investment and 338 new jobs

Roche has expanded its presence in Germany with significant investments and job growth in 2025. The company's workforce in the country rose by 338 employees, bringing the total to 18,549. At the same time, Roche poured over €700 million into its German operations last year alone.

Over the past five years, Roche's employee numbers at its three main German sites—Grenzach-Wyhlen, Penzberg, and Mannheim—have climbed by roughly 12%. In 2021, the company employed around 18,500 people across these locations. By 2025, that figure had grown to more than 20,700.

Financially, Roche's performance in Germany showed mixed results. The pharmaceuticals division saw a 6.3% revenue increase, reaching €2.2 billion. However, the diagnostics segment experienced a slight dip, with revenues falling by 1% to €909 million. This decline was largely due to reduced demand for blood glucose test strips.

Overall, the company's sales in Germany rose by 4.7% in 2025, totalling €8.9 billion. The substantial investment of over €700 million underscores Roche's commitment to strengthening its operations in the country.

Roche's latest figures highlight steady growth in both workforce and revenue across Germany. The €700 million investment signals ongoing confidence in the market, despite fluctuations in certain segments. With over 20,700 employees now working at its key sites, the company continues to expand its footprint in the country.
