Reverend Eleonore Merkel to Introduce Candidacy for Pastoral Role in Roßdorf and Wernshausen

Reverend Eleonore Merkel will introduce herself as a candidate for the pastoral role in Roßdorf and Wernshausen on Wednesday, 18 January 2023. The event will take place during a special worship service at Trinity Church in Roßdorf, beginning at 3:00 PM. All congregation members and colleagues in proclamation ministry are invited to attend.

The service will serve as the official introduction of Merkel to the local community. Afterward, she will be available to speak with congregation members and answer their questions.

A formal consultation process, called Benehmensherstellung, will follow the service. This involves the church councils of the five congregations within the pastoral district reviewing the proposed appointment. Their feedback will help determine the final decision. The Roßdorf/Wernshausen pastoral position operates on a rotational basis, managed by the regional church office of the Evangelische Kirche in Hessen und Nassau (EKHN). While EKHN has a structured administration under Kirchenpräsidentin Prof. Dr. Christiane Tietz, no specific advisor has been named in connection with Merkel’s application.
