Renowned historian Ernst Erich Metzner leaves a lasting legacy in Rüsselsheim
Professor Ernst Erich Metzner, a renowned scholar of local and regional history, has passed away. The city of Rüsselsheim previously honored him with its Cultural Prize in 2006 for his lifelong dedication to unearthing the area's past. Born in 1938 in Hillersdorf, Metzner later moved to Raunheim before settling in Rüsselsheim after completing his education at Immanuel Kant School. His interdisciplinary approach became a hallmark of his research.
