Region Hit by Wave of Thefts and Burglaries: Police Seek Witnesses
A series of thefts and burglaries have occurred in various towns across the region, with police appealing for witnesses to come forward. Incidents include a house burglary in Kloppenheim, vehicle vandalism and theft in Friedberg and Bad Nauheim, a purse snatching in Bad Vilbel, and an attempted break-in in Florstadt.
In Kloppenheim, burglars gained entry to a single-family house via an unlocked terrace door between 13:30 and 19:00 on Tuesday, ransacking drawers and cabinets. Meanwhile, in Friedberg's Danziger Straße, a man in dark clothing and light shoes smashed two windows of a black Audi Q3 and searched the interior around 01:50 on Wednesday. Thieves also targeted vehicles in Bad Nauheim, removing the rear wheels of a gray VW Tiguan in 'Gelber Weg' between Monday and Tuesday.
A 64-year-old woman had her purse snatched by a young couple at Bad Vilbel's South Station on Tuesday afternoon. The couple followed the woman from the roundabout on Frankfurter Street to Römer Street before committing the theft. The young woman is described as around 20 years old, 170 cm tall, with darker complexion, brown curly hair with blonde highlights, and wearing a gray knee-length coat. Her accomplice is also estimated to be around 20 years old, 180 cm tall with a strong build, a light complexion, and was wearing a dark jacket, dark pants, and a gray wool hat.
In Friedberg's Breslauer Street, an unknown individual destroyed a window of a black 1 Series BMW between Monday, 6:00 PM and Tuesday, 8:20 AM. Additionally, three burglars forced several doors of a company building in Massenheim open on Wednesday around 04:15, entering several rooms but leaving empty-handed. In Florstadt's Weigandstraße, burglars attempted to break into the entrance door of a single-family house between Sunday and Thursday, but the door withstood the break-in attempts.
Police are seeking witnesses for the incident on October 7, 2025, at 14:45 on Südbahnhof-Straße in Bad Vilbel. Anyone who observed the act or recognized the described young couple is urged to contact the Friedberg Criminal Police at 06031 6010.
