Prolight + Sound merges with Light + Building for 2026 trade fair
Messe Frankfurt has announced a significant change for 2026. The annual event dedicated to lighting, audio, and event technology, Prolight + Sound, will no longer be held as a standalone event in March 2026. Instead, it will be integrated into Light + Building, the world's leading trade fair for lighting and building technology.
The decision comes after insufficient exhibitor feedback for Prolight + Sound to be held independently. Wolfgang Marzin, Chairman and CEO of Messe Frankfurt, stated that this pragmatic move is in the best interests of both exhibitors and visitors.
The new concept aims to generate synergies by combining Prolight + Sound exhibitors with those from the digital signage and security industries under one roof at Light + Building. This event will take place in Frankfurt am Main from March 8 to 13, 2026.
Messe Frankfurt is planning a curated supporting program and guided tours for visitors in the new area, which will be centrally located within the extensive lighting area of Light + Building. A separate exhibition area is planned for relevant Prolight + Sound exhibitors, with high-quality stand package offers.
The integration of Prolight + Sound into Light + Building is set to create a comprehensive platform for the lighting, digital signage, and security industries. Messe Frankfurt is committed to offering Prolight + Sound exhibitors a new home within Light + Building, ensuring a successful event for all involved.
