Portable toilet in Frankfurt obliterated by suspected pyrotechnic attack

A portable toilet in Frankfurt’s Niederrad district was completely destroyed in the early hours of Saturday, December 13, 2025. The attack happened around 2:50 a.m. at the intersection of Goldsteinstraße and Kandelstraße, leaving the Dixi cabin in ruins. Unknown individuals targeted the toilet with what authorities believe was a pyrotechnic device. The explosion caused severe damage, with early estimates suggesting repair costs in the mid-three-digit euro range. The destroyed toilet will need full replacement due to the extent of the damage.
