Police hunt two men after bold Wald-Michelbach home burglary

A burglary took place at a home on Im Weidenklingen Street in Wald-Michelbach on Friday, January 16, 2026. Police are searching for two unidentified men seen near the property at the time of the crime. Witnesses also reported a suspicious car in the area the day before.

The break-in happened when the suspects forced entry through a patio door. They searched the house for valuables, though it remains unclear whether anything was taken. A neighbour noticed two men acting strangely near the property around the time of the offence.

One suspect stands taller than 1.80 metres, with a black full beard. He wore a dark beanie, a bomber jacket, and all-black clothing. The second man is shorter than 1.80 metres, with black, wavy hair and black headphones. Like his accomplice, he was dressed entirely in dark clothing. Detectives are also examining reports of a dark-coloured Opel or Volkswagen estate car seen on Thursday, January 15. The vehicle had a yellow licence plate and carried three men inside. Authorities believe it may be linked to the incident.

The K21/22 criminal investigation unit in Heppenheim is leading the case. Anyone with details about the suspects or the car is asked to call 49 6252 706-0. The investigation remains ongoing.
