POL-OH: Attempted Burglary in Residence - License Plate Theft
Police in Alsfeld are investigating two separate incidents involving theft and an attempted burglary. A pair of Polish license plates were stolen from a parked car, while a home on Beethovenstraße was targeted by intruders who failed to break in. Authorities are now appealing for witnesses to come forward with any relevant information.
The first incident took place between Thursday, 27 November and Sunday, 7 December. Unknown individuals removed the Polish license plates, registered as 'GWE-3708-U', from a grey Ford Focus parked on An der Hessenhalle street. The vehicle’s owner reported the theft after noticing the plates missing.
Just days later, between Sunday, 7 December at 6:50 PM and Monday, 8 December at 1:30 AM, an attempted break-in occurred at a single-family home on Beethovenstraße. The intruders tried to force open a patio door but eventually gave up and left without taking anything. The damage caused during the attempt is still being assessed. Police have confirmed that no suspects have been identified in either case. Investigators are actively pursuing leads and have urged anyone with information about either incident to contact Alsfeld Police Station immediately.
Both cases remain under investigation, with officers reviewing evidence and following up on potential leads. The public’s assistance is considered vital in identifying those responsible. Anyone with details about the stolen license plates or the attempted burglary is encouraged to reach out to the authorities without delay.
