POL-OF: Cigarette machine opened: Who saw something?; Side mirrors and exterior mirrors stolen; High property damage after apartment fire and more

A series of crimes and incidents have been reported across the Offenbach district in recent days. Police are investigating multiple cases, including violent assaults, thefts, and property damage. Authorities have also identified a body found near Friedrichsdorf last month.

In Sprendlingen, a 29-year-old man allegedly drove his car at a pedestrian on Kurt-Schumacher-Ring while intoxicated and without a licence. After the attempted hit-and-run, he reportedly attacked the young victim with pepper spray. The suspect remains under investigation.

A separate assault took place in Offenbach, where a 31-year-old man allegedly struck a bar patron with a wooden sign. The victim briefly lost consciousness and required medical attention. Thieves have been active in several areas. In Heusenstamm, burglars broke into a single-family home on Anton-Herrmann-Straße and stole jewellery and coins worth thousands of euros. Meanwhile, in Neu-Isenburg, multiple vehicles had their side mirrors and mirror glass stolen over the weekend, with damages per car ranging from €200 to €1,200. Vandalism also occurred in Mühlheim am Main, where two exterior windows of a daycare centre on Rodaustraße were damaged, costing around €1,000 in repairs. In Offenbach, unknown offenders forced open a cigarette vending machine on Ludwigstraße and stole all the tobacco inside, causing hundreds of euros in damage. Another break-in happened at a farm shop on Hügelstraße in Langen, where thieves stole a cash box and wallet after damaging the door. Firefighters responded to a blaze in a second-floor apartment on Lessingstraße in Mühlheim am Main. The fire, likely started by an Advent wreath, caused at least €100,000 in damage. Authorities have confirmed the identity of a body discovered near Friedrichsdorf in early November. The deceased was a 35-year-old man from Offenbach who had been missing since September. Police have ruled out foul play in his death.

Investigations into the assaults, thefts, and vandalism incidents are ongoing. The fire in Mühlheim am Main serves as a reminder of the risks posed by unattended candles during the holiday season. Meanwhile, the identification of the missing man brings closure to his case, though no suspicious circumstances were found.
