POL-KB: Waldeck - Attempted Burglary at Residential Building
A residential home in Waldeck was targeted in an attempted break-in during the early hours of Saturday, December 20. Three unknown individuals tried to force their way into the property before fleeing when a neighbour intervened. Police are now searching for witnesses to help identify those responsible.
The incident took place at around 12:50 a.m. on Thüringer Straße. The suspects, dressed in hooded sweatshirts, jackets, and carrying sports bags, attempted to pry open a window of the house. Their efforts caused roughly €300 worth of damage to the property.
A neighbour noticed the suspicious activity and disturbed the break-in attempt. Startled, the three individuals ran to a waiting car and drove away. The vehicle, which had Dortmund licence plates, was last seen leaving the area at speed. Authorities have launched an investigation and are asking anyone with information about the incident or the car to come forward. Details about the suspects remain limited, but their clothing and the vehicle’s registration may provide crucial leads.
The attempted break-in left minor property damage but no further harm. Police continue to gather evidence and are urging local residents to report anything unusual they may have witnessed. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the authorities immediately.
