POL-F: 250214 - 0154 Frankfurt - Westend: Counterfeit electronic devices seized.
A man in Frankfurt has been arrested after selling counterfeit headphones to an unsuspecting buyer. The incident began when the purchaser realised the product was fake only after receiving it.
Police stepped in following the buyer’s report, leading to the seizure of more fake goods during a search of the seller’s home.
The buyer first spotted the headphones listed online at a suspiciously low price. After purchasing them, he discovered they were poor-quality fakes. He tried contacting the seller but received no response.
Instead of stopping, the seller kept advertising the same counterfeit items. Frustrated, the buyer alerted the police.
Officers arrested the seller on the spot, finding additional fake products in his possession. A follow-up search of his home uncovered even more counterfeit goods.
The suspect now faces charges for breaking trademark and design protection laws. Authorities have not released his name to the public.
The case highlights the risks of buying heavily discounted electronics from unverified sellers. Police have confiscated all seized counterfeit items. Legal proceedings against the suspect are now underway.
