Police in Eschwege are investigating two separate incidents of criminal damage in the area. A hit-and-run collision left a parked car with significant repairs needed, while a public park suffered deliberate vandalism. Authorities are now asking for witnesses to come forward with any information.
The first incident took place in Berkatal-Frankershausen, where a black Volkswagen Amarok was struck while parked on Steinweg. The damage, estimated at €3,500, occurred sometime between Monday at 9:00 AM and Saturday at 6:00 PM last week. The driver responsible did not stop at the scene.
In a separate case, unknown individuals targeted Eschwege’s Schlosspark. Between Friday at 6:00 PM and Monday at 11:00 AM, they broke wooden fence panels and posts, causing around €500 in damage. The investigations remain ongoing as authorities work to identify those responsible. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to assist by providing statements or evidence. The total estimated cost of the damages across both incidents now stands at €4,000.
