Philippsthal Honors German Reunification with Music, History, and Unity

A significant event is set to take place in Philippsthal (Werra), Germany on November 9, 2025. The day will mark the anniversary of the border opening between the two municipalities, with a commemorative ceremony and poster exhibition 'Women in Divided Germany'.

The main event will kick off at 4:00 PM in the courtyard of Philippsthal Castle. The program promises an engaging mix of culture and history. The Hattorf Miners’ Band and the choir of Vacha Gymnasium will provide musical entertainment.

The exhibition, 'Women in Divided Germany', will be open for viewing. It delves into the contrasting everyday lives of women in West and East Germany during the 1970s and 1980s, offering a unique perspective on the era.

The mayors of Philippsthal (Werra) and Vacha have invited the public to join them in this celebration. Adding to the significance of the event, Professor Dr. Roman Poseck, Hessian Minister of the Interior, Security, and Homeland Affairs, will be attending as the guest of honor.

Following the ceremony, attendees are invited to a social gathering with food and drinks, providing an opportunity to reflect on the past and celebrate the present. The event promises to be a memorable occasion for all involved.
