Penang's Budi95 Petrol Subsidy Scheme Launches Smoothly

The Budi95 petrol subsidized scheme in Penang got off to a smooth start on its first full day. The scheme, which subsidizes RON95 petrol at RM1.99 per litre, is open to eligible Malaysians with a valid driving licence and MyKad. The ministry, KPDN, is taking steps to prevent misuse and ensure compliance.

KPDN will conduct random enforcement actions at all petrol stations to monitor and prevent foreign-registered vehicles from purchasing RON95 petrol. They will also verify MyKad ownership to ensure the subsidized subsidy goes to the rightful users. Despite the new system, only one complaint was received on the first day, due to user error rather than any technical issues. Consumers are advised to follow on-screen instructions carefully to avoid such errors.

The Budi95 petrol subsidized scheme in Penang has begun successfully. KPDN's monitoring and enforcement actions aim to maintain the scheme's integrity. Eligible Malaysians are encouraged to utilize the subsidized subsidy, ensuring they follow the instructions carefully to prevent any issues.
