Peine's district heating overhaul starts April 13 with brief supply cuts
Major renovation work on Peine's district heating network will begin on April 13, 2026. The project, focused along Fuhsering, aims to boost supply reliability and improve system efficiency. Residents and motorists should expect temporary disruptions during the eight-week upgrade. The work will start near the Fuhseblick residential park, extending toward Theodor-Heuss-Straße and reaching as far as Fuhsebrücke in the direction of the P3 area. Before construction begins, households in Peine will face a nine-day heating supply interruption from April 3 to April 11, 2026. This pause is necessary to prepare for the main renovation phase.
Once underway, the project will last roughly eight weeks, with completion expected by June 5, 2026—assuming favourable weather conditions. Toward the end of the works, a final one-day heating outage will occur, with affected residents receiving prior notification. Throughout the period, temporary traffic restrictions will also be in place for both drivers and local residents. The upgrades are designed to secure long-term heating supply and enhance the network's overall performance.
The renovation will wrap up by early June, provided no weather delays arise. Improved efficiency and reliability in Peine's district heating system will follow. Residents and motorists should plan for short-term inconveniences during the construction period.
