(lei) Firefighters and police were called to the Hanau hospital late Tuesday evening due to a reported fire. Around 11:30 PM, it is believed that a patient set fire to toilet paper rolls in a room.

The fire alarm system was triggered, alerting staff who then smelled smoke from the room. They removed the man from the room and extinguished the burning rolls, which had damaged the floor and wall. The incident, estimated to have caused 1,000 euros in damage, is being investigated by the criminal police for suspected arson.

No one was injured, and the building was subsequently ventilated, but no evacuation was necessary.
