Overnight dumpster fires in Frankfurt lead to four arrests

A series of dumpster blazes broke out overnight in Seckbach, Frankfurt. The first fire was reported at around 2:50 a.m. on Wilhelmshöher Straße, with further incidents following in quick succession. Police have since detained four individuals in connection with the fires.

The first fire started in a dumpster shortly before 3 a.m. Witnesses claimed to have seen youths fleeing the scene, but an initial search found no suspects. Less than an hour and a half later, multiple dumpsters were set ablaze again on the same street. This time, the flames damaged the facade of a nearby building.

At around 5:10 a.m., three more dumpster fires were reported close to the earlier incidents. Firefighters managed to contain all blazes, preventing them from spreading further. No injuries were reported in any of the cases. Police later identified three teenagers—aged 15 and 13—as suspects. They were located, questioned, and released into the custody of their parents or guardians. A separate arrest was made when a 28-year-old man was caught attempting to ignite another trash bin. He remains in custody.

The investigations into the fires are ongoing, with authorities focusing on the detained individuals. The incidents caused property damage but resulted in no injuries. Police have not released the names of the minors involved, in line with German privacy protections.
