Over 100 robotic vacuums stolen in bold overnight truck heist in Rhoden

Thieves have dodged security and stolen over 100 robotic vacuums from a parked truck in Rhoden. The overnight theft happened in the early hours of Friday, February 20. Police are now asking for witnesses to come forward with any information.

The truck was left in a car park near the SVG-Hof guesthouse in Rhoden. Between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM, unknown offenders broke in and took the Ecovacs brand vacuums. The stolen goods are worth tens of thousands of euros.

This is not the first such incident in the area. Since 2023, three similar thefts of electronic devices from trucks have been reported across Nordhessen. Previous cases occurred in Kassel (July 2024), Fulda (October 2024), and Bad Hersfeld (January 2026).

Police are investigating the latest robbery and have urged anyone with details to contact Bad Arolsen police station.

The theft adds to a pattern of truck break-ins targeting high-value electronics in Nordhessen. Authorities continue to track leads and are encouraging the public to report suspicious activity. The stolen vacuums remain unrecovered at this time.
