Ottobeuren residents unite to block wind turbines and solar farm plans

A local campaign in Ottobeuren is pushing back against plans for new renewable energy projects. Residents have united under the group Pro Natur Ottobeuren to stop the construction of wind turbines and a solar farm. Their efforts have already gathered strong support from the community. The citizens' initiative, led by spokesperson Jesse Corpus, has collected more than 500 signatures from concerned locals. These were formally submitted to the Ottobeuren council as part of their protest. The group argues that the proposed developments would negatively affect the area's landscape and environment.

Beyond local action, the initiative has taken its concerns further. A separate petition has been filed with the state parliament, targeting the planned solar installation specifically. The move signals growing opposition to the projects among residents.

The campaign now waits for a response from both the council and state officials. If successful, their actions could delay or block the renewable energy plans. The outcome will determine whether the wind turbines and solar farm proceed as intended.
