Opel's Vivaro-e Dominates Electric Van Market with Impressive Range and Quick Refueling

Opel's Vivaro-e has taken the market by storm, topping its segment in Germany and the UK. This electric van offers impressive range and payload capacity, while its hydrogen-powered sibling promises quick refueling and an even longer range.

The Opel Vivaro-e, available in both electric and hydrogen powertrains, has proven its mettle in the stock market today. In the first quarter, it led its segment in Germany and the UK, with the Vauxhall Vivaro-e claiming the top spot in the UK. The electric version boasts a range of up to 328 kilometers (WLTP) and can carry a payload of up to 1,163 kilograms. Meanwhile, the hydrogen-powered Vivaro-e Hydrogen can be refueled in just three minutes, matching the convenience of conventional diesel or gasoline vehicles. Despite not winning the 'International Van of the Year 2021' title specifically for its hydrogen version, the Stellantis models, including the Opel Vivaro-e, Peugeot e-Expert, and CitroΓ«n Γ«-Dispatch, were recognized for their electric prowess. Production of the Vivaro-e Hydrogen is increasing, with a range of over 400 kilometers (WLTP) and a load volume of 5.3 or 6.1 cubic meters, capable of carrying up to 1,000 kilograms of payload. Opel and Vauxhall are committed to electrifying their lineup, aiming to offer electric versions of all models by 2024 and going fully electric in Europe by 2028. The rising demand for electric commercial vans has been reported by Stellantis and Opel, with the electric LCV segment expanding rapidly. Opel's market share in Germany has grown to nearly 19 percent, while Vauxhall's share in the UK's electric LCV sector has increased from 19 to 22.7 percent year-over-year.

The Opel Vivaro-e and its hydrogen-powered sibling have demonstrated their capability and market appeal. With increasing production, impressive specifications, and a commitment to full electrification by 2028, Opel and Vauxhall are well-positioned to continue leading the electric LCV segment in the stock market today.
