Omega Bridge in Frankfurt-Fechenheim to Close for Major Renovation Starting September 16

Starting September 16, 2024, the Omega Bridge on Bundesstraße 8 in Frankfurt-Fechenheim will undergo renovation, leading to temporary closures and detours. Hessen Mobil will carry out the work, which is expected to last until May 2025.

The renovation will affect the bridge itself, two of the four on- and off-ramps, and the roadways beneath the bridge. These structures are in poor condition and require repair. The first phase, lasting until February 2025, will see the full closure of two important access roads. During the entire renovation, individual lanes of the B 8 will be closed alternately for up to 500 meters. Detours via Kilianstädter Street, Birsteiner Street, and other streets have been set up to reroute traffic during the first phase.

The renovation is necessary to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the bridge and connected structures. Hessen Mobil will keep the public informed about the progress of the construction over the coming year. The complete completion of the renovation measures is scheduled for the end of May 2025.
