Offenbach roofers and staff to get €950 inflation relief bonus

Roofers and office staff in Offenbach are set to receive a financial boost this year. A mandatory inflation compensation bonus of €950 will be paid in two instalments across 2023 and 2024. The measure aims to help workers cope with rising living costs. The first payment of €475 is now available to all eligible employees. To secure the bonus, workers must submit their claims by mid-August 2023. A second instalment of the same amount will follow by February 2024 at the latest.

Around 40 employees across Offenbach's roofing firms will benefit from the scheme. The bonus applies to everyone in the sector, including those working for employers who previously avoided union wage standards. Even apprentices will receive an additional €166.25 as part of the package. The regulation is legally binding for all roofing companies in the area. Employers cannot opt out, ensuring every worker receives the full amount. The move comes as part of broader efforts to offset the impact of inflation on household budgets.

The two-part payment will provide €950 in total to each eligible worker over two years. Claims must be made by the August deadline to qualify for the first instalment. The scheme guarantees support for all staff, regardless of their employer's usual pay practices.
