Offenbach Restructures: Božica Niermann Takes on New Roles

Offenbach is restructuring its economic development and real estate leadership. Božica Niermann, currently heading the Office for Economic Development and Municipal Properties, will take on additional roles. A new company will be established to formally appoint her as managing director alongside Peter Walther.

Niermann, who has led Offenbach’s economic development since early 2021, will oversee major industrial settlements Samson and Biospring, and focus on commercial growth at the Kaiserlei district. She will retain her current position and become an authorized signatory for Innovation Campus GmbH & Co. KG (INNO) and Mainviertel Offenbach GmbH & Co. KG (MV).

The city is integrating economic development with the Innovation Campus and Port Authority. This follows significant overlap and collaborative efforts between economic development, OPG, MV, and INNO, such as commercial land marketing and events. Lord Mayor Dr. Felix Schwenke praises Niermann's initiative, expertise, and collegial approach, with positive feedback from the business community.

A search for a successor to lead the remaining real estate companies is underway, supported by the personnel consultancy Cobalt. The real estate divisions GBO, OPG, and GBM will continue to be led by a single managing director in a dual role.

Offenbach's restructuring aims to streamline leadership and integrate economic development with key projects. Božica Niermann's appointment reflects her proven expertise and positive reception from the business community. The city continues to seek a suitable successor for other real estate roles.
