Offenbach hit by crime wave: Thefts, vandalism and a public transport assault

Offenbach hit by crime wave: Thefts, vandalism and a public transport assault

A series of crimes and incidents have been reported across Offenbach and the surrounding region this week. Police are investigating multiple cases, including theft, vandalism, and a sexual harassment allegation on public transport.

Authorities have also detained two suspects in connection with graffiti damage at a local S-Bahn station.

On Monday evening, a head-on collision occurred in Dietzenbach after an 18-year-old driver ignored a stop sign. The crash involved an oncoming Volkswagen Tiguan, leaving two people injured. Witnesses are urged to contact Dietzenbach police on +49 6074 837-0.

Between Monday and Tuesday, a black BMW X3, valued at around €15,000, was stolen from Rosenstraße in Neu-Isenburg. Offenbach criminal police are handling the case and can be reached at +49 69 8098-1234.

A 29-year-old woman reported being inappropriately touched by a man on an S-Bahn train near Offenbach-Ost station. The suspect is described as around 60 years old, with a black-grayish beard, wearing a black cap, black jacket, and possibly brown shoes. Police are treating the incident as sexual harassment and ask witnesses to call +49 69 8098-1234.

In Rodgau, burglars attempted to break into a residential building on Grünewaldweg between Saturday evening and Tuesday night. The failed break-in caused several hundred euros’ worth of damage to the entrance door. Anyone with information should contact Heusenstamm Police Station on +49 6104 6908-0.

Between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, around 100 metres of power cable was stolen in Offenbach’s Mainzer Ring area. Additionally, two individuals—aged 17 and 19—were detained on Thursday afternoon for criminal damage after spray-painting graffiti at Waldhof S-Bahn station. The suspects, one from Offenbach city and the other from the district, were arrested near Seligenstädter Straße. No further details about them have been released.

In a separate incident, vandals broke into an electrical box in the same area, switched off the circuit breaker, and cut the cable in two places. Police are appealing for witnesses in all cases and can be contacted at +49 69 8098-5100.

Investigations into these incidents are ongoing, with police seeking public assistance in several cases. The stolen BMW, power cable theft, and attempted burglary remain under active inquiry, while the detained graffiti suspects await further legal proceedings. Authorities continue to urge anyone with relevant information to come forward.
