Nutella’s Vegan Revolution Hits German Shelves in 2025

Ferrero is introducing a vegan version of its iconic spread to Germany. Nutella Plant-Based will hit supermarket shelves in January 2025, providing a dairy-free alternative to the classic recipe. The launch responds to increasing demand for plant-based food options across Europe.

The new spread maintains the familiar taste of hazelnuts and cocoa but replaces milk with ingredients like chickpeas and rice syrup. Ferrero has confirmed the product is fully certified vegan and will be sold in a 350g jar.

To celebrate its German debut, the company has shared six vegan recipe ideas featuring Nutella Plant-Based. These include baked goods, desserts, and snacks designed to highlight the spread's versatility. This latest addition joins a long line of Nutella innovations, from snack packs like Nutella & Go! to ready-made treats such as Nutella Biscuits and Nutella Croissant. The brand, now in its 60th year, is available in over 170 countries worldwide.

Nutella Plant-Based arrives in German stores in early 2025, catering to consumers seeking plant-based alternatives. The product retains the brand's signature flavour while using dairy-free ingredients. Ferrero's move reflects broader shifts in food preferences towards more sustainable and vegan-friendly options.
