Noventi's bold restructuring saves the company from financial ruin

Noventi has successfully completed its three-year restructuring programme, pulling the company back from the brink of financial collapse. The turnaround, which ran from 2022 to 2025, involved sweeping changes across operations, leadership, and strategy to stabilize the business.

The restructuring, dubbed Focus 2025, included streamlining the product range, selling off subsidiaries, and shutting down underperforming locations. Costs were cut by €100 million, while digital transformation and leadership changes—such as appointing Dr. Marc Hofmann as CEO in 2023—helped reshape the company. The FSA, Noventi's owners' association, played a key role by approving strategic decisions in meetings and backing the shift to a customer-focused model with regional service hubs.

By the end of the programme, Noventi had stabilized its operating results and secured a new credit agreement with Deutsche Apotheker- und Ärztebank (Apobank). CEO Mark Bühm credited the recovery to teamwork between employees, customers, and the FSA, while stressing that further investment and restructuring remain essential. CFO Frank Steimel highlighted the importance of refinancing partners in supporting the turnaround.

Leaders across the company acknowledged the scale of the effort. Andreas Buck, FSA Chairman and Deputy Supervisory Board Chair, called it a Herculean task and praised the unity shown. Holger Wessling, Supervisory Board Chairman, commended employees and management for their commitment to change.

With the restructuring now complete, Noventi has set its sights on becoming the quality leader in billing, inventory management, and industry-specific software by 2030. The company's financial footing has improved, and its new strategic direction aims to build on the progress made since 2022.
