Nobian Takes Full Control of Europe's Calcium Supply Chain

Nobian is assuming full control of its calcium supply chain in Europe. The company will now deliver the chemical directly from its Frankfurt site after ending a long-term supply deal with Tetra Chemicals Europe. This move aims to fortify customer support and streamline distribution across the region.

The decision comes as global demand for calcium rises, spurred by infrastructure projects, construction growth, and stricter environmental regulations on dust control.

Calcium (CaCl₂) is a widely used inorganic salt with applications in de-icing, dust suppression, food processing, oil and gas, and water treatment. Compared to traditional road salt, it is less corrosive and aids in removing pollutants like heavy metals and phosphates in water systems. Nobian has produced the chemical at its Frankfurt facility for decades, utilizing high-grade raw materials and established expertise.

The company's shift to direct supply follows the termination of its partnership with Tetra Chemicals Europe. While no details have been released about future contracts with Tetra, Nobian will now oversee all commercial and logistical aspects itself. Customers will reap the benefits of shorter supply chains and direct access to Nobian's sales and service teams, ensuring consistent quality and support.

Markus Mingenbach, Senior Vice President of Chlor Alkali & Chloromethanes, stated that the change aligns with Nobian's sustainability strategy, Grow Greener Together. The objective is to meet rising demand for reliable, eco-friendly chemical solutions. Andreas Lowjaga, Product & Account Manager for Chlorine Derivatives, added that clients will receive the same high-quality product but with enhanced engagement and dedicated assistance from Nobian's team.

Nobian's reintegration of calcium into its commercial portfolio mirrors broader market trends. The company's direct supply model aims to boost efficiency and responsiveness for customers. With demand for the chemical increasing, the move positions Nobian to expand its long-term role in Europe's essential chemicals sector.
