New Year's Miracle: Family Welcomes Fifth Child on January 1, 2026

The new year began with joy for Sabine Groh and Dr. Francis Gropengießer as their fifth child, Arvid Theodor, was born at 1:10 a.m. on January 1, 2026. The family welcomed their healthy New Year's baby at Bad Hersfeld Hospital, surrounded by a warm and supportive environment. Arvid Theodor arrived as an unexpected but cherished addition to the Gropengießer household. His parents, Sabine and Francis, already had four children—Alessa (10), Arthur (8), Arian (5), and Arik (2). Unlike his siblings, Arvid is the only one with a middle name, Theodor, chosen to reflect his special place as a surprise blessing.

Sabine Groh later shared her relief and gratitude for the excellent care she and Arvid received during the birth. The family had specifically picked Bad Hersfeld Hospital for its reputation as a comforting, family-friendly place. Both mother and baby were confirmed to be in good health shortly after the delivery. The birth also marked a new chapter for the Gropengießer children, who eagerly welcomed their youngest brother. Arvid's arrival means he will have three older siblings and, eventually, three younger ones, completing a large and lively family from Morschen.

Arvid Theodor Gropengießer's birth brought happiness to his parents and siblings as the first baby of 2026 at Bad Hersfeld Hospital. His unexpected arrival has added a new dynamic to the family, now consisting of seven members. The Gropengießers look forward to their continued life together in Morschen.
